Tickets for Eurovision 2008

As the Eurovision 2008 contest is coming and lots of fans are waiting for the participants to be known, there is one thing we usually think of… the tickets for the contest.

After making some researches I found out that in several countries the tickets for the semi-finals are already sold and in others it hasn’t been announced that tickets are going to be sold yet.

In most of the countries you can buy only tickets for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest which is individual for all participating countries.

Last year the tickets for the real Eurovision contest were sold from December, so I suppose it will be the same this year. I propose to all who want to go and watch the contest live to ask the broadcaster of the country they are living in. But it’s known that the tickets for Eurovision 2008 could be bought when the finals in each country end and the representing song from each country is known.

So do not hesitate to contact your country’s broadcaster and ask there, when exactly the tickets will be available. Usually they are sold via internet, in the country host and vie the broadcaster.

I propose everyone who want to get tickets for Eurovision 2008 to be patient and wait till December 2007 so that everything is clear and known where to buy tickets, what is the price, etc.

It might be best that you join your area/country OGAE Eurovision Network/fan club

If you google OGAE it provides you with a variety of addresses

    Hope this helps

Hey guys, there are 2 of us coming from Vancouver Canada especially for Eurovision so we would like to know ticket details asap in order to book flights etc. Tks

  7. Rastko said »

Hi, I’m also from Vancouver and interested in coming to BGD to watch the finals. Can you tell me when the tickets will be on sale and when the finals will be since I also must book a flight and make the necessary preparations. Thank you.

Any idea whether your better registering with your national broadcaster [BBC, RTE] to get tickets or whether there would be an option to get them from Belgrade Arena. Assuming they do become the host venue for RTS.
I’m already in the process of securing flights and accommodation but without tickets it’s not quite the same.

I’m from Australia and was wondering if it is at all possible to buy tickets online?
Are non-Europeans allowed to buy tickets to Eurovision?

  10. Chris said »

Oh wow I didn’t notice Danielle’s comment above mine. Two Aussies hey? Might see you there!!!

For Russia, 1st Channel (Pervi Kanal) is the host broadcaster. To find out more, speak to the President of the OGAE fan club in Russia - he’s called Vlad and is a good guy. Their contacts are on http://www.russia.ogae.net/.

Good luck with finding tickets - it’s always a pain, as they’re expensive and hard to get.

    Hi all,

Local broadcasters are not responsible for Eurovision tickets as they are not sold locally in every country. The only broadcaster responsible is RTS, the host.
Usually, tickets are sold online (always through an agency appointed by the hosts) and sometimes through call centers. In the host country people will be able to purchase tickets from various sales points.

OGAE clubs distribute limited tickets to their members only. For more information check with your local club (most of them have websites), although I fear it is late for that.

TICKETS ARE NOT AVAILABLE YET so beware of people claiming to be selling tickets for Belgrade.

Usually the site that sells the tickets crashes on the first day but do not despair. They always come back soon.

    I hope this helps

    Happy Eurovision Year

    Stella :-)

    Info for all re tickets:
They will not be on sale before the 29th January when the Reference group is meeting to decide on the date and price. From a disorganised country like Serbia - where I am from and emmigrated from, you can only expect this lack of organisation regarding tickets. I know there will be two rounds in selling tickets:
    1) firslty they will release 15,000 ‘ordinary’ tickets and then
    2) another 3 - 4,000 VIP tickets for lounges, balconies, etc.
Also I know there will be online sale of tickets (let’s hope it works!) and direct in Belgrade.I am going to BGD anyway and do hope my friends will be able to get tickets for me. I can’t help anyone else except with information.
BGD will be fabolous in MAY! Bring short sleeves!

  21. Sofija said »

Jelena - do you or anyone else here have a rough idea as to the cost of the tickets - both VIP and ordinary? I and a group of my friends are planning to go to Belgrade for the Contest - and we are interested in the final show only.

    Thanks.

    :D

    Ticket sales started today.

At the moment they are selling them in packages only, after 17th March if there are any tickets left they will be sold separately.

All the info you need is here : http://www.esctoday.com/news/read/10343

And for prices of individual tickets here : http://www.esctoday.com/news/read/10324

Sales went very smoothly during the first two hours, tickets for the final selling the fastest.
