The Pirates - Latvia Eurovision 2008 Finalist

After the Latvian final Eirodziesma, the audience decided to send to Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade the Pirates. To the Super Final were sent Andris Erglis, Pirates of the sea and Aisha. After the second round of voting, the Pirates were chosen to represent Latvia. Aleksandra Kurusova, Alexandra Kurusova and Janis Vaišla are the pirates.

Second place was for Aisha and third came Andris Erglis.

    It is a shame! A cheap show made by incompetent people. Andris Erglis should represent Latvia, it seems that we don’t need professionals any more.

    I have doubts about this act, but then I think of the ‘Barbie’ song that was a hit around the world about a decade ago… If they could have a hit with Barbie, then the pirate song stands a chance at least. That said, I think Latvia should try to put actual talent on the stage next time, not a glitzy gimmick with (nice) cleavage.

    I’m sorry that the eurovision is so fixed by joining countries voting for their neighbours.

    Of all the songs that we’re broudcast this was SIMPLY THE BEST.

    Can you tell me of another song that you are gonna go down your street and here all ages singing it.

    Come on Europe lets vote for the best songs.

    BTW Russia was good but not memorable.
