The latest news  are confirmed.

Armenian pop singer Sirusho will represent Armenia next year during Eurovision song contest. His candidacy has been approved by the Armenian public TV Company art board. The song that will be performed must be decided in a public vote according to new rules of Eurovision.

Beovizija 2008 will be held on February 19 and February 20,2008. The Serbian national final will be in Sava Centar in Belgrade. On 19th twenty songs will compete in the semi final. Half of them will compete on the next day in the final.

It was announced that the EBU Television committee confirmed the suggested changes about Eurovision Song Contest format. The preliminary date for rehearsals is May 11 and the opening date for the press centre is May 10.

Serbia and the Big Four countries will broadcast one semifinal. They also will have voting rights in it. At The Head of delegation meeting in January will be determined which countries will participate in each semi final and which countries will vote in each show. All countries will be divided into six groups. Half will enter the first semi final and the other will be in the second semifinal.

The news that the back-up juries will count in 2008 was confirmed. In the new format the top nine countries will be determined by the televoting system. Then the back-up juries will announce the highest ranked song according them and it will be added. This will provide ten countries on each semi final.  For the final voting procedure no changes have been announced. The EBU’s Executive Supervisor Svante Stockselius said “We are confident that the approved format revisions will take the Eurovision Song Contest to a higher level, by adding exciting elements and, above all, by making the competition more fair and the results more credible.”
