Kreisiraadio - Estonian Eurovision 2008 Finalist

The Estonian national final, Eurolaul 2008, was held. For the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest was chosen Kreisiraadio, to represent the country. Through televoting the song “Leto svet” was decided to go to Belgrade. The back-up jury selected “Ice cold story” as their favorite song.

The results from the final are:

Jeronimas Milius - Lithuanian Eurovision 2008 Finalist

The young Jeronimas Milius won the Lithuanian national final that took place in the LRT studios in Vilnius. Jeronimas Milius was unknown to bigger part of the TV viewers and the radio audience, but he won their hearts with the operatic ballad “Nomads in the night”.

In the heart, Jeronimas Milius is a metal rocker, but he perfumed a melody rock song for a wider audience. The twenty three years old singer has been a part of the metal band Soul brother. After his performance, the press in Lithuania wrote “Stop Eurovizija, send Jeronimas to Belgrade”. The audience seems shared that point of view and sent Jeronimas Milius to Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade.

The Greek Songs

On Wednesday, February 6th, the Greek broadcaster ERT, will present the three songs that will take part in the country’s national final for Eurovision Song Contest 2008. The news, were announced on a press conference in Athens.

The songs to be presented to the media and press are:
Chryspa- “A chance to love”
Kalomoira- “Secret combination”
Kostas Martakis- “Always and forever”

The press conference will start at 11.30 CET.

About the Azerbaijani National Final

The European fan community will chat live with the winner of the first Azerbaijani national final. At the press conference will be presented and the other three former Eurovision winners. The final there will be broadcasted live on internet and through other various broadcasters in Turkey, Lithuania and Georgia.

In Baku on February 2nd will be held thee first ever Azerbaijani national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2008.

Hristov & Dimov Replace Royanov in Bulgarian Final

Stoyan Royanov was disqualified from EuroBGvision 2008. His song Sombrero had been performed last summer on BUlgarian TV in June. According to the rules of Eurovision Song Contest, a participating song publycaly broadcasted before 1st October can not participate.

Svetlozar Hristov and Vladimir Dimov with their song Tired soul will take his place. With the replacement and the three wild cards, te line-up for the final on February 23rd looks like:

Eurovision 2008 With New and Improved Logo

The Serbian Broadcaster RTS and EBU have launched an entirely different Eurovision Song Contest 2008 logo. After numerous of unfavorable comments about the first idea, they have come with entirely new conception.

It is much more professionally done this time. The new theme is based on the Confluence, and are used the colors of the Serbian flag –white, blue and red. According to the creative team the main idea is like the rivers Sava and Danube flow together in Belgrade, so will the people from all over the world and the music meet in this place. As a center of the logo, has been used the most popular in the world music symbol - the treble clef.

This year’s slogan is “The confluence of sound”. It is not typical Serbian but is very appropriate.

Azerbaijan Final at 17.30 CET

The first Azerbaijan national Final to select the debut song for Eurovision Song Contest 2008 will start at 17.30, not at 17.00 as it was announced earlier.

The show will be on February 2nd, Saturday. This change will allow and the Winner’s Preconference to be watched live on internet. Three artists will take part of the show - the rock band Unformal, Aynur Iskanderli and Elnur Husseinov. Special guests at the show will be the Eurovision Song Contest winners from Serbia2007 - Maria Serifovic, Ukraine 2004 - Ruslana and Turkey 2003 - Sertab Erener.

The show will end up at 19.30 and will be followed by short interviews, and then the press conference will start.

The Countries in the Two Semi Finals

In Belgrade was held the draw deciding in which of the two semi finals the countries in Eurovision 2008 will perform. From six pots were drawn the 38 countries that are represented in the semi finals. This was based on the voting patterns between 2007 and 2004. In to the first semifinal on May 20th were drawn half of the countries and into the second semi final - the other half.

In the first semi final will take part: Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Montenegro, Moldova, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, San Marino and Slovenia.

Goran Bregovic - in the Romanian National Final

Today it was announced that in the Romanian national final, apart from the other 24 semifinalists, will take part one of the most famous Serbian singers, Goran Bregovich.

The Serbian artist will be the special guest there. The Head of Romanian delegation said today: ” This year the Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Serbia, that’s why we thought to bring the Serbian atmosphere in every Romanian home. We are very happy that Goran Bregovic has accepted our invitation to perform in our national final.”

Eurovision Tickets Out on January 31st

Information about the tickets for Eurovision Song Contest was announced. Tickets, for the event that will be held in Belgrade in May, will be available on January 31st.

The local fans can buy there tickets even earlier. On January 29th, the tickets will be released in Serbia. The international fans can get their tickets online on January 31st. Until March 15th, the tickets for the contest will be sold in packages. Pack A - you can visit all events, package B - you can visit one of the two semi finals, the final and the rehearsals for both semi finals, and if you prefer the pack for OGAE-Club- you can visit all events. It was confirmed that the price of the tickets will be between 1 000 and 5 000 dinars per ticket. This is between 12.5 and 62.5 euro. After March 17th the remaining tickets will be sold separately.

One person can buy no more then 4 packages. They will be delivered directly to the buyer’s home address. This service will be available abroad as well as Serbia.

Morena - Malta Eurovision 2008 Finalist Video

The Maltese national final for Eurovision 2008 was held. Eight singers took part and Morena with her song “Vodka” won.

The audience and the public via televoting chose that song to perform the country. The song is written by Philip Vella and Gerard James Borg.

Stefan Filipovic - Montenegro Eurovision 2008 Finalist

Last night Montenegro have selected Stefan Filipovic to represent the country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008.The song that Stefan will perform will be made known by March 15th.

Six Montenegrin artists competed in a televised show. It was held in Shass Disco in Podgorica. Each artist performed two songs and after the televoting Stefan won the majority of the votes.

Stafan Filipovic is twenty years old and has participated in many festivals. Last year he won the popular Budva Festival with the song “Nebo i more”.
