Eurovision Song Contest outside Europe?
The EBU by Nibras Media Ltd. bought the Eurovision Song Contest format. This company is connected with the MENA region - North Africa and Middle East. Some more other broadcasters have expressed interests to join to the competition.

For the members of the European Broadcasting Union, Eurovision Song Contest is an annual competition. It is represented in more than 40 other countries by public broadcasters and became a European Tradition. In 1956 in Luano, Switzerland was held the firs Eurovision Contest.

The countries in MENA are: Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. Nibras Media in partnership with Tanweer Group will develop this competition in these countries.

Nabras - Tanweer is leading company in Arabic speaking countries which represents major international companies and Hollywood companies. The company has five studios in India, Beirut, Damascus, Amman and Cairo. This company provides more than 1/3 of the market in MANA with major international products.

Several other broadcasters want to join the MANA version and expressed their desire to be the host broadcaster for the first Eurovision in this region.

Bettina Brinkmann is Head of Formats and Special Events at Eurovision TV said: “The Eurovision Song Contest is one of the oldest, and by far the best established, entertainment formats in the world. The recipe of the Eurovision Song Contest is excellent and can travel worldwide. So it is not surprising that other versions of the Eurovision Song Contest will emerge” and added “We are excited to see the new version very soon, and are delighted that ESC will celebrate different cultures worldwide”.
